Version 1.3.0 for Mac
Running a peripheral
- A busy peripheral no longer slows the rest of the window or makes the menu bar flicker. The log, dashboard and live values now update up to ten times a second, which is smooth to read and keeps the sidebar and menus responsive.
- Run is the main button in a target’s header, and Stop is red. Stop is also always in the bar at the bottom of the window while something runs, whichever target is selected. Press ⌘. to stop.
- A pulsing dot in the bottom bar, and an animated icon beside the target in the sidebar, show that a peripheral is running.
- The console keeps following new lines however long the log grows.
Sidebar
- Click anywhere on a row to select it, and use the arrow keys to move through the list.
- Recent now lists the targets you ran, most recent first. Selecting a target no longer moves it, so the list stays where it is while you click through it. The same applies on Android.
Layout
- The Inspector and the console slide in and out instead of appearing at once, and the target beside them makes room as they move. With Reduce Motion on, they still appear at once.
- The console opens under the selected target, so the sidebar keeps the full height of the window. In a narrow window the Inspector takes less room, so the target’s title and Run button stay readable.
- Opening a pane, or moving between targets, no longer makes the menu bar or the toolbar flicker.
- The Console button is at the left end of the bottom bar, and the Inspector toggle is at the right end of the toolbar. ⌘J and ⌥⌘I still work. An empty console says so instead of showing a blank area.
- Setting up a remote agent in Explore shows each field’s label above it and its hint below it.
- The Pro sheet is as tall as what it shows, so nothing is hidden below the fold, and Not now stays in view.
Known limits
- Requires macOS 14 Sonoma or later and a Mac with Apple Silicon. Macs on macOS 13 keep version 1.2.3 and are not offered this update.
- Keep the app in your Applications folder. An app opened straight from the disk image or from Downloads runs from a read-only copy and cannot update itself.
